Bethlehem Umpires Association: Umpire Evaluators have only been seen at one League game,
and they did not notify manager. They
are supposed to notify managers if they are present. The evaluators were one reason League agreed to contract with
BUA. D. Hemerly will check at BUA
meeting. Also, D. Rosenberger mentioned
his perception the strike zone is being squeezed after umpires receive pay at
5th inning. We MUST pay by 5th inning
according to By-Laws. M. Svanson
suggested paying umpires prior to game to insure same strike zone for entire
game.
All-Star Game: Results of voting and manager selections appear on
back. Alternates will be introduced but
will play at manager's discretion.
Selected players should report at 5:30 for BP from 5:45-6:30. Each team should see to it their door prizes
and ticket stubs get to the game. B.
Fatzinger and D. Ernst will verify that Limeport's regular announcer will
announce game. Managers should see to
it that pitchers selected to squad do not pitch for 3-4 days prior to All-Star
Game. Everyone should think
POSITIVELY that this year we will field a good, well-managed team and erase
past memories--no more 18-2 defeats!
