Rescheduled Games: Dave Hemerly indicated that Article 1, Section 2 of the By-Laws concerning rescheduled games will be strictly enforced. Please see By-Laws pages 1 and 2. D. Rosenberger pointed out the inconsistency
between page 1 (5 days) and page 2 (10 days); page 1 will be changed to reflect
10 days. A new page 1 of the By-Laws
is enclosed.
Number of Divisions, Realignment, and Play-Offs:
* Number
of Divisions: 1 vote for 3 divisions;
all others voted for 2 divisions.
During 1998, the League will play with 2 Divisions -- North and South.
* Realignment: A map was distributed for discussion of
division alignment. The choice came
down to: Bethlehem (Sports Page) and
ICC in the North or South, vs. Cetronia and South Whitehall in the North or
South. By a close vote, it was
determined that Bethlehem and ICC would be in the North, and Cetronia and South
Whitehall would be in the South.
A
new Address/Phone List, reflecting realignment, is enclosed. Please
check carefully -- list has been
completely retyped and there were considerable changes.
* Playoffs: Options included using the By-Laws two-division
scenario as written (6 teams make the playoffs, two from each division). D. Ernst made a motion to consider a version
similar to that we have used for the past several years with three divisions (7
teams make the playoffs: two division winners and top 5 seeds). This alternative was approved, 9 voting in
favor. A draft of this new playoff plan
is enclosed.
Officer Change: D. Ernst will become Vice-President; S. Smull will
remain as Statistician.
Schedule: Give
preferred dates to D. Ernst ASAP. A
rough schedule will be distributed at next meeting.
Monies Owed:
* Baseball Money will be due in April.
* League Fee will be due in May, amount to
be determined. Expect the League Fee to
be slightly higher since the same amount of expenses must be spread amongst three
less teams.
