BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP -- The ICC Pirates got back on the winning track as Ryan Lindley tossed a seven-hit shutout against the Lower Nazareth Cardinals. Lindley (5-2) struck out six and walked none, and allowed only three baserunners past first. He was backed by eleven hits and a solid defense that turned two double plays. The Pirates swept their season series against the Cards, with Lindley winning two of the three games.

The Pirates started the scoring immediately as Chad Stecker, Josh Mohlmann, and A.J. Peracchia opened the first inning with consecutive singles off Scott Kresge (1-1). Peracchia's hit allowed Stecker to score what would prove to be an early game-winning run. ICC added two more runs in the third inning when Stecker reached first on a two-base throwing error and moved to third on Mohlmann's sacrifice bunt. Peracchia was hit by a pitch, then Chad Waelchli singled in a run. Peracchia scored when the next batter, Dave Stauffer singled. Cory Schneck ended the inning by grounding into a double play, one of two turned by the Lower Nazareth defense.

ICC wrapped up the scoring in the sixth inning. Pinch-hitter Kyle Ruff singled to left field and was replaced on the bases by Len Melton. Melton move up to second on Todd Brosious's single. Brosious was wiped out at second on a fielder's choice but Melton went to third, then scored on Stecker's second hit of the game.

Brosious and Peracchia also had two hits for the Pirates (20-11). Lower Nazareth falls to 9-19 with this loss and was led by Todd Litts with two hits. The Cardinals next play the Banko Athletics at Scherersville on July 13. ICC plays at Lehigh Township this Sunday.
